X to Eagle is developed and maintained by Lanrenwen. We believe in total user privacy and data sovereignty. This Privacy Policy describes how information is handled when you use the X to Eagle Chrome extension and our website (https://xtoeagle.lanrenwen.com).

1. Zero Data Collection

X to Eagle does NOT collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data, usage analytics, device identifiers, or browsing activity. We do not operate any tracking servers, analytics services, or cloud databases.

2. Local-Only Architecture

  • All interactions are strictly local between your web browser and your local Eagle desktop software running on http://127.0.0.1:41595.
  • Saved images, video files, prompt texts, tags, and annotations are sent directly to your local Eagle app via Eagle's official local HTTP API.
  • No third-party server ever receives or inspects your captured media or metadata.

3. Browser Permissions & Purpose

The extension requests specific permissions only to provide its core functionality:

  • activeTab & contextMenus: Allows you to trigger media captures on the current tweet tab and access options via right-click.
  • storage: Retains your local preferences inside your browser (such as your chosen default Eagle folder, tags, theme, and language).
  • downloads & offscreen: Used locally to remux streamable video fragments (HLS/m3u8) into standard MP4 files via WebAssembly without freezing the UI.
  • Host Permissions (*://*.x.com/*, *://*.twitter.com/*, *://*.twimg.com/*): Needed to locate media URLs and prompt text on Twitter/X pages.
  • Host Permissions (http://127.0.0.1:41595/*, http://localhost:41595/*): Needed to communicate with the local Eagle desktop app API.

4. Security & Integrity Commitment

X to Eagle adheres strictly to the principle of least privilege and local-only data operations. We never inject remote trackers, analytics, ads, or unauthorized third-party scripts. All updates are vetted and distributed exclusively through the official Chrome Web Store review process.
